Are you travelling to Europe?

I love what I get to do for a living.

I’m not much use with a spanner or torque wrench under the bonnet, but I do love cars.

In particular, driving them.

Sounds strange, but I actually love long road trips with the family.

Load ‘em up and off we go.

Maybe it’s the independence, maybe it’s the freedom…

Every day I’m here at work I’m reminded about what cars really mean to me and so many others.

Which is perhaps why I went into this trade all those years ago instead of trying to become a racing driver.

I love being able to share my passion with others, and get a warm fuzzy feeling when I see a customer excited about their new car.

Excited about the independence and freedom.

This Summer I’ll be heading off to France with my wife and 3 young kids.

A couple of days on the road in a car packed with possessions and people might not sound like fun to everybody, but it’s all a part of the adventure (now we have them trained!)

I don’t know if you’ve ever driven in Europe before, but there are a few differences aside from the fact that they’re on the wrong side of the road.

In France for example, you need to have a breathaliser and warning triangle in your boot.

And it can be more than just a slap on the wrist by Gendarme if you’re caught without them.

We regularly get asked about whether you can hire a car from us and drive it in Europe.

To which the answer is yes, but to make your life even easier we make sure you not only have everything you need, but also know what you need to know.

I can even share my secrets for keeping all of your passengers happy for hours on end…

A little bit of knowledge can go a long way.

If you’re planning a European driving adventure this year and hiring a car for it will make the trip run more smoothly, drop Scott in our hire department a line.

He’ll be happy to chat through your options.

Happy Driving.
