Ford Kuga Car Review

The Kuga is Ford’s return to the 4x4 market and they haven’t disappointed. Not only is the Kuga a very comfortable drive but it’s also very agile considering its size.

So, what’s it like to own?

Features

The Kuga comes in two trim levels; the Zetec or the Titanium. Both of which have alloy wheels, air con, traction control, ESP (stability control), ABS and an alarm. The Titanium also adds automatic headlights and wipers, cruise control and leather upholstery.

Additional ‘packs’ can be applied to either trim to give privacy glass, parking sensors or electric folding mirrors.

Safety

All models come with 6 airbags as standard. The ESP, ABS and traction control have all aided towards the Kuga being awarded a 5star EuroNCAP rating.

The Kuga also has ISOFIX child seat mounting points.

Engine

There are two engine choices for the Kuga; a 2.0 litre turbo diesel and a 2.5 litre turbocharged petrol.

The 2.5 petrol is the same engine used in the Focus RS, and although detuned, still packs a punch.

Our favourite is the 2.0 litre TDCI diesel engine. It produces 136bhp with a 0-62mph time of 10.5 seconds making it a 4x4 that’s suitable for commuting and city driving.

Running Costs

The 2.0 TDCi Kuga averages 45mpg and produces CO2 emissions of 169g/km which means it is one of the greenest SUV’s on the market.
